AISD School Board Meeting

A public statement is issued when the issue is completed throughout the day or if possible action is planned. This usually happens at a regular board meeting with the vote on the fourth Thursday of each month, but you can write questions for action during the voting session or discuss possible steps. Additional appointments will be announced in the district calendar.

Agenda issues determined by the Board’s decision may be discussed with the public during the referendum. These include consent requirements, separate ballots and scheduled public hearings. You can comment on topics that are classified as student performance in the rector’s report or on the board’s agenda.

The agenda of the meeting is published at least 72 hours before the start of any public meeting.

Public Hearings of AISD School Board Meeting

The Commission may fix the time of public hearing in accordance with the policy or law. Contribute in the form of social expression. Talking time – 1 minute. If a public hearing is also on the agenda, an open meeting can only be held once.

General public comments will be provided at Board briefings. Public opinion is not limited to action items and can refer to any issue or topic that the public wishes to raise. At the briefing, the Board may reserve up to 60 speakers to comment on the Board.

An additional 10 speakers can be placed on the waiting list for public comment, provided that the allotted 60-minute public comment time remains. Any announcement of the decision of the Board or the agenda of the General Meeting may be made on the day of the meeting in person or by telephone. To record your speech, you can speak in person by call 512-414-0130 at 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. on meeting day.

For the preparation of your comments and for listing your name and the agenda items that you are considering, no more than 60 seconds. Recording stops automatically when the set time has elapsed, and for more information on the agenda, visit the Austin ISD BoardDocs website.
