AISD Registration 2021-2022

Austin ISD teaches more than 74,000 students and provides 125 different school communities in America’s fast-growing metropolitan area. We work with world-class universities, start-ups, nonprofits and community leaders to prepare students for college, careers and life.

In the 2021-2022 school year, Austin ISD opens online registration for students. They are delighted to be able to provide all of their students with an excellent education. As a reminder, online registration for the 2021-2022 school year opened on Jan. 4, 2021.

Steps in Online Registration

The progress bar at the top of the online registration page displays the steps necessary to complete online registration. There are 10 steps to complete.

Step for New Students

Parents registering students with AISD for the first time must first create an account on the parent portal in order to access the online registration system. To create a Parent Portal account, visit AISD Portal.

  1. To register a new or returning student online, login to the AISD Portal at portal.austinisd.org.
  2. Click on the AISD Student Registration tile. This tile opens the Online Registration page.
  3. Enter the Username and Password you used to login to the AISD portal and click the Login button.
  4. Select Create New Student from the drop-down menu only if the student has never attended an AISD school.
  5. If you have other students enrolled in AISD, you can copy the contact information from existing students. Select the Yes radio button then select the existing student’s name from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click the Next button in the upper or lower right portion of the screen to continue.
  7. After that, proceed to the next step and also include all student document on the ‘attachment’ menu.

Step for Returning Students

Parents of returning students to Austin ISD must first create an account on the Home Portal in order to access the online registration system (Same as the instructions above).

  1. Select the returning Student’s Name from the drop-down menu. If you don’t see your student’s name in the drop-down list, contact your student’s campus. Don’t create a new student if you do not see a returning student’s name listed.
  2. Information on the student information page will contain prepopulated data from the student’s current record. Most of the information on this page is not editable. If you need to make changes to the student information, please contact the student’s campus.
  3. Click the Next button in the upper or lower right portion of the screen to continue.
  4. proceed to the next step and also include all student document on the ‘attachment’ menu.

Documents to be prepared

Parents must register all ISD students online through the frontline team and download the relevant documents below. Encouraged to register online and upload as many registration documents as possible during this time. You need to prepare this document before school starts.

For new student, the documents you must prepare are:

  • Child birth certificate
  • Your child’s social security card (optional)
  • Vaccination records for children
  • Your child’s withdrawal form/last report card (if available)
  • Identity card with picture of parent/guardian
  • Guardian document (if any)
  • Residence permit

Note: All students attending AISD for the first time must provide proof of on-campus residency when school starts in August. If these documents were not attached electronically during the online enrollment process, the campus may request additional documents to complete your enrollment.

For returning student, the documents you must prepare are:

  • Photo ID of Parent/Guardian: Driver’s license, state or international ID, or passport.
  • Proof of Address: Current gas, water, or electricity bill OR Mortgage or lease agreement in the name of the parent/guardian.

Note: All students who have recently changed addresses must provide proof of residence on campus when they return to school in August. If these documents are not attached electronically during the online registration process, additional documents may be required on campus to complete the registration.
